Breast cancer is responsible for killing more women in the United States for instance than any other cancer apart from lung cancer. It is not clear what causes some women from developing breast cancer but there are certain risk factors to take into account.
The age factor
The chances of developing breast cancer increase as you get older,indeed women are more likely to be diagnosed with breast cancer above the age of 65.Also if a woman has her first child at an older age she will be more likely to suffer from breast cancer. Women who go through the menopause after the age of 55 or at greater risk.
Family History If a member of your immediate family has suffered from breast cancer then you will be at a higher risk yourself. Geographical location
Figures suggest that based on a per 100,000 women, people living in the far east are less likely to develop breast cancer (20-25%) than say someone in Europe (65-75%) to North America at a quite staggering 90.7%

Symptoms of breast cancer
There aren`t really any early symptoms of breast cancer but as the tumor grows it becomes easily noticeable as the breast can change shape or maybe a lump will be felt and it is most likely to be picked up at breast screening sessions.a change in the skin may be noticed often dimpling or indentation of the skin with maybe some signs of wrinkles. The nipple may become slightly pulled in, there may be signs of a discharge from the nipple.

Any treatment is more likely to be successsful if detected early,therefore it is important to receive regular screening and checkups. It is also very beneficial to get into the habit of undertaking your own self examination, after all, nobody knows your body better than yourself. The threat of breast cancer is huge and must be treated with respect,get as much information as possible and always try to stay ahead of the game.
