Cold weather front brings drizzle to the Bay Area

OAKLAND, Calif. ?

AT&T Park?s ground crew had something unexpected to deal with on Monday ? a wet field to prepare for the San Francisco Giants-Chicago Cubs afternoon baseball game.

While rainouts are common this time of year in ball parks across the country, the ground crew at the home of the Giants almost never has to deal with wet conditions once June comes around.

A cold weather front moving down the coast from British Columbia brought the rare light showers to the region. By noon, most Bay Area cities were only reporting a trace of rain with 0.22 inches in Ben Lomond in the Santa Cruz Mountains being the area with the highest accumulation.

However, the wet weather did manage to create havoc with the flight schedule at San Francisco International Airport. Delays of up to three hours were reported.

In the Sierra, showers were forecasted with some snow flurries above 7,000 feet. The same held true for Yosemite National Park.

The wet weather was expected to clear out of the region by Monday evening.
