Do you want to dive into the wonderful world of online marketing? Do you think you need a professional social media agency (or, even a general marketing firm) in order to do well at it? Well, while I think that it?s always a solid idea to do so (hey, I do work for one), there are times when you don?t have the funds to do so. So, what should you do if you really have to do it on your own? There are a number of things that you can do by yourself in order to get yourself a bit further.
Like I said, I work for a social media agency. So I would like to hope that I know what I?m talking about with respect to social media management. While I don?t have the time right here to go into as much detail as I feel this area needs, I feel that I can go over it in broad strokes so that you at least know where to get setup.
The first thing you need to do is to if you want to master social media is to post habitually. I generally feel that once a day is a good rule of thumb, and if you have any reason to do more frequently you should try to combine posts. If somebody lands on your Facebook page and sees that you haven?t made any posts in a while then chances are that they will think that you have forgotten your page, and you certainly don?t want that!
Next, you need to remember that you need to give value with each and every post that you make, otherwise people are significantly less likely to ever interact with you, let alone give your posts the time of day. Deals, coupons, new products, polls, contests, or even funny tidbits and links to related articles are all lovelyways that you can give your readers something that will make them want to come back to your Facebook page again and again.
To finish, have fun. Social media is a new and vibrant field, so you should ensure that you enjoy it. If you treat it as just another project, your readers will notice and they?ll pass on you. But if you like what you?re writing, your readers will without any doubt like what they?re reading.
