How Do You Store All Your Scrapbooking Materials? Part 2

In the last article, we looked at how we store our scrapbooking basics and smaller items. This time, we?ll be finishing off the small things and working our way up to the big stuff.

Boxes

I?m not talking about the huge cardboard boxes that things usually get shipped in (although those are quite helpful too), I?m talking about smaller, plastic boxes. These types of boxes may be used for tupperware containers, but I love to use them for my bits and pieces. You will find that most supermarkets will sell cheap tupperware boxes that are good for this and makes for some cheap scrapbooking supplies.

If you?re anything at all like me, you have a couple of crimpers, craft knives or stencils that are an one of a kind sort of tool. Here is where boxes turn out to be useful. Boxes, like the tools you can hold in them come in all sizes and styles,

Lazy Susan

If you?ve never seen or heard of one of these, they are essentially I giant disk that sits on a table, which you can revolve. You?ll usually see these in chinese restaurants, particularly on giant tables.

The idea behind these is you can load these up with stuff and revolve it around to access whatever you want, regardless of where its stored on the wheel. I keep a little one of these to make it easy to access all of my materials and the holders they?re in.

Draw Caddy

A draw caddy is sort of a small tray that is divided up and designed to sit in the top of most drawers. You will most probably have one of these sitting in your cutlery drawer in the kitchen.

Its an ideal way to hold a large amount of your hardware and tools for simple access and storage. I typically keep my scissors, rulers, tape measures, some glues and an exacto knife in mine. The best strategy here is to keep your most frequently used tools here for quick access.

Cupboards

Lastly we come to the humble cupboard. While everybody has these, it would serve you well to have a dedicated cupboard for your scrapbooking tools and materials.

You will not be scrapbooking all the time and its a clever idea to put away all of your scrapbooking materials if you are not using them. There are two main reasons for this. One, you need to use the table for other activities and uses and secondly, it keeps your scrapbooking tools and albums out of reach of the cheeky hands of youngsters or accident prone do-gooders.

Its also the perfect place to keep a vacuum or dust buster in, to help speed up the cleaning process after your scrapping session is complete.

Hopefully this has inspired you to clean and organise your own scrapbook working area. You?ll be pleased you did!
